What is SmartNet Essex?
SmartNet Essex is a business networking group for men and women who meet once a month for a lively, productive and informal lunch. SmartNet’s members support people in business, whether that business is a start-up or more established, by offering a meeting environment that allows everyone to share business know-how and first hand experiences with each other.
SmartNet Essex was launched in 2011 and was the first of its kind to offer a Pay As You Go forum, without members having to commit to attending every meeting or pay an annual fee. Members come along not because they have to, but because they want to.
How SmartNet began
Ten years ago the co-founders of SmartNet Essex recognised that business networking helped them enormously, particularly in the first few years of running their own businesses. They knew many men and women in business who could not commit either logistically or financially to membership-only based groups. Some couldn’t even find one they were allowed to join, either because so many were gender specific or imposed a non-competition caveat and their profession was already represented. So began SmartNet Essex a monthly Pay As You Go networking group to welcome all people in business. The initial aim was to help start-ups, but it soon became clear that the winning format encouraged both the embryonic and the established.
SmartNet Essex provides a lively and dynamic environment for guests who meet once a month to make connections and share their skills set with each other. Attendees represent a wide range of professions from accountants, solicitors, web designers and graphic designers, through to personal development coaches, virtual assistants and holistic therapists.
